As an attendee, what can I expect?

When we set out to throw a craft beer festival in Dallas, our main focus was throwing an event we would personally want to go to. As craft beer fans, we have been to lots of other festivals, and there are good and bad things about each one. At our event, you can expect a fun, boisterous crowd, that appreciates craft beer that’s made with care and attention. You’ll find 70+ booths with several beers at most for you to sample and enjoy. Often times, the head brewmaster or owner of each brewery will be at the booth to talk about what they do, and how they do it. This event is about enjoying, and exploring beer through a journey, unlike many events or festivals you’ve been to. Occasionally we invite neat or interesting vendors which compliment the beer industry well.

I can't find my emailed tickets, where are they?

Your tickets are generally delivered shortly after purchase to the email address you provide.

If it’s been more than a few hours and you can’t find them, you can login to your SeeTickets account here:

https://www.seetickets.us/

If you checked out as a Guest, use the Forgot Password link to get logged in. Your tickets will be loaded in your account.

If that still doesn’t resolve your issue, it’s possible you mistyped your email address at checkout. Please use the Contact Us form and we’ll be in touch as soon as possible.

My bank charged me multiple times for the tickets

If you see multiple charges, these duplicates will more than likely drop off your account within 3-5 business days. You must wait until the charges are no longer in a PENDING status before we can do anything.

If you inadvertently made multiple purchases, please contact us.

Where's the beer list?

The beer list drops approximately 1 week prior to the event. When we release it, you’ll find it on our Festival Info page. NOTE: Our event has always sold out, so please don’t wait on the beer list to make your ticket purchase.

If it’s not the week of the festival, last year’s beer list will be left on the Festival Info page so you have an example of what’s in store.

I’d like to help out, what can I do? Do you need volunteers?

We absolutely need volunteers! If you volunteer your time to help us prepare on Friday, your Saturday admission is on us. You can also volunteer for half the session on Saturday, and explore the other half! To apply, visit our Volunteer page to get signed up.

In the meantime, if you’d like to pour beer for a brewery at the event, grab your TABC certification online.

What are the advantages of purchasing VIP tickets?

VIP patrons gain access to the festival 90 minutes prior to general admission. VIP attendees will have wristbands, a dedicated entrance at least 2 hours into the event, and in-and-out privileges. We pre-scan all VIP tickets so that you can take advantage of as much of the extra 1 hour as possible to sample all the special beers we will have to offer.

Please show up 1 hour before the VIP session begins to get pre-scanned into the event.

VIPs receive both a glass AND plastic tasting cup. Please note: we are unable to replace dropped/broken glasses so please be careful with your glasses and cups.

Will you have any special beers I can’t buy at my local store?

Absolutely! That’s one of our main goals, and we promise to have lots of special beers at our festival that you can’t find on any store shelves, or anywhere in North Texas. Ask previous attendees and they’ll confirm that our brewers bring the goods for this event.

Do you offer Designated Driver tickets?

While we encourage attendees who choose to drive to arrange safe transportation, we do not offer a special ticket for Designated Drivers. Everyone who wants to attend the event, whether drinking or not, must purchase a full-priced ticket. While craft beer is the focus of the event, it’s not the only thing that will be going on that day. We’ll have a bunch of neat local vendors, a limited amount of free samples of local food/drinks, free spring drinking water, and live music acts throughout the weekend. In most years, many of our vendors offer neat or interesting entertainment options. In 2017, we began partnering with Free Play Arcade to have a mini-arcade with all games set on free play. If you choose not to drink, that’s at your option.

We intentionally chose Fair Park, so that the DART rail offers a safe transportation alternative within walking distance of our event. We have no way of distinguishing who drinks and doesn’t as we don’t wristband our folks to save everyone time at the entry gates.

We apologize in advance for any inconvenience.

Why should I purchase advance tickets to the fest?

This event has sold out almost every year since its inception. In fact, it’s often sold out several days before the event. VIP tickets are gone in a matter of weeks.

A large part of making sure this event is successful assumes we’ll sell tickets ahead of time to make sure it’s an awesome event. We’re a husband and wife team dedicated to making this the best event possible. We’re simply asking for your help so we know how much beer to have on hand.

Why don’t you offer unlimited beer samples with admission?

The state of Texas does not allow “unlimited tasting” events. The maximum amount of beer Texas allows to be sold at any one time is 24 ounces. We don’t like the 24oz limitation at a beer festival as much as you don’t, and that’s why we’re pricing additional sampling cards really low. The day of the festival, you’ll be able to purchase additional (12) 2oz sample cards for only $5! Legally we have to charge you something.

Can I bring my child?

Please make arrangements for all children prior to attending the festival. No one under the age of 21 will be permitted entrance to the event. This include infants. Anyone with a child will not be admitted, no exceptions.

What's the entry line situation like?

Many people will arrive early to the festival, and a line to get in to a beer fest is inevitable. The lines will move quickly if you have your ID and tickets ready. Additionally, VIP tickets will be limited, will have a dedicated entry, the VIP tickets will be pre-scanned for quick entrance, and will allow entry 90 minutes prior to general admission.

Historically, due to pre-scanning we’ve generally had 90% of our VIP attendees in the door in 5 minutes. If you don’t like waiting in line, we highly recommend buying VIP.

Please arrive 1 hour early to have your tickets pre-scanned.

Will there be any food or non-alcoholic beverages available?

There will be plenty of food trucks available in our “food and music pavilion” outdoors, with a wide variety of food options available for purchase. Free water will be available throughout the festival hall. Some vendors may choose to provide food or non-alcoholic beverage samples, and other non-alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase from our food truck vendors. We recommend bringing some cash since we no longer have ATMs on site.

What about public transportation options?

Of course, it’s a beer festival! We chose the Fair Park Automobile Building due to the many choices. The DART rail arrives just a few hundred feet from the facility and costs only a few bucks for a round-trip ticket.

If you’re looking for other options, be sure to visit our Travel Page.

Where do we park?

2024 Parking Info (2025 coming soon):

Parry Ave Lot: $10 (day of)

Gate 6 Lots: $15 (day of)

Gate 6 Lots: $12 (purchase in advance here)

What size are the tasting cups?

Our sample cups are 4oz, and we pour your samples to a 2oz pour line. Attendees are encouraged to try new beers they’ve never had before. Sampling 2oz at a time allows you to not have to commit to a full-sized pour from your local pub or brewery. If you like something and want to sample it again, most beers should be available all day! Our General Admission tasting cups are made of hard clear acrylic, which is odorless and tasteless. If you prefer to have a commemorative glass, grab a VIP ticket!

Does this event benefit a charity?

Absolutely! A portion of the proceeds benefit the North Texas Food Bank (www.ntfb.org). We chose them because hunger is a major problem in North Texas, and 94% of their funds go directly to their mission. They’re highly efficient, and we want to support them! Over the last 11 years, we’ve helped provide over 250,000 meals to hungry North Texans.

Who is responsible for throwing the Big Texas Beer Fest?

The event is produced by Chad and Nellie Montgomery, two craft beer enthusiasts who reside in Dallas, TX. Chad and Nellie also own Civil Pour, a craft coffee and beer bar. Please visit our About Us page to find out more.

What items are not allowed in the festival?

The following items are prohibited:

  • Outside food, drink, or alcoholic beverages
  • Weapons (knives, pepper spray, any concealed weapons or firearms, etc.)
  • Illegal drugs, chemicals, fireworks
  • Backpacks, suitcases, coolers, or other large bags
  • Unapproved marketing material of any kind (pamphlets, handouts, advertisements)
  • Other items as determined by facility security
  • See also “Photography and Marketing Policy

All bags are subject to search upon entry to the event. Security reserves the right to request patrons to return prohibited items to their vehicle, or dispose of these items; non-cooperation may lead to ejection from the facility.

Are dogs or other pets allowed?

Sorry, no pets are allowed at Big Texas Beer Fest. We’re mostly an indoor event, and the health department won’t allow it.

Can I transfer my ticket to someone else?

Yes. The ticket purchaser’s name doesn’t matter. Simply email the purchased ticket(s) to your friend, and they can enter our festival without an issue. Once your ticket has been scanned at entry, however, it cannot be re-scanned.

Smoking Policy

Per  City of Dallas law, smoking is not allowed at Big Texas Beer Fest. The City of Dallas adopted a no-smoking policy for all parks, and Fair Park (where we hold the event) is a Dallas Park.

Additional information regarding the City of Dallas smoking policy can be found here.

We encourage you to take still photographs at the event! In fact, we hope after the event that you’ll post some photos to our Facebook page and tag us. Please tag @bigtxbeerfest on Instagram. Video recording equipment (not including smartphones) will require media credentials and requires pre-approval by Fair Park event staff.

Intoxicated Patrons

All festival attendees are expected to drink responsibly. Any guest who is believed to be intoxicated when entering the festival will be denied entry, and a refund for your admission will not be provided. We’ll have plenty to go around, so please don’t pre-party!

Any attendee who is found intoxicated or causing general disturbance will be asked to leave the facility without a refund.

Refund Policy

Once tickets are purchased, no refunds will be issued.

We are not responsible for lost, stolen, damaged, or destroyed tickets. If the event gets canceled, you more than likely won’t need to do a thing: provided you entered a valid email address, we’ll inform you of the cancellation by email, and refund the amount you paid for your tickets (less any service/facility fees) on the same payment method used for purchase. If you did not provide a valid email address upon checkout, it is your responsibility to check whether the event is going ahead at the scheduled date, time, and venue.

If the event is postponed, tickets will automatically be re-issued for the new date, and a window to request a refund (if you can’t make the new date) will be sent via email. In this event, it is your responsibility to request a refund during the specified refund window. If you do not request a refund during that time, we cannot process refunds after the request window has closed.
